Please note – our policy – we always ask for proof of identification.   I don’t expect that too many loan officers or title company officers persue my personal little website - but just in case you do:: When you want the borrower to provide a copy of their drivers license or some other document to be sent back with the package, please make them aware of that several days before we arrive. We are often called a day or two before the signing, sometimes only hours before the signing. We do usually have a hand scanner along or we will take a picture with our phone - but this does not always provide the clearest ID copy.   Please include a form to fill out for identification purposes should the borrower not have a copy of their license to return.   If you do not provide one, and we have one of our standard ones along – we will fill it out and return with the documents. We will not accept reduced payment for not returning copies of drivers licenses, as we ask to see it at every notarization - and will try to provide a copy - but you can also request the borrower to e-mail you a copy.
